The Team

Franciska Bruce, Co-Director

Franciska co-owns and runs The Chintz Bar and Underland – two of the most successful bars and live music venues in Cornwall. With a joint capacity of 250, the venues run consistently sold-out events and have hosted a number of recognisable faces from Luke Wright to hip-hop duo The Scribes. As well as running a successful performance venue, Franciska also manages a number of bars at different festivals and has curated some of the most exciting and individual spaces on the festival circuit.

Johanna Tate, Co-Director

Johanna comes from a festivals and events background. She has produced several key film festivals, including the London Short Film Festival and the Human Rights Watch Film Festival. When she’s not in Cornwall eating pasties, Johanna works as a Communications and Events Manager at a university. She also has a dog (but don’t worry, her and Ophelia still get on despite their differences)

Jules Mahony, Co-Director

Jules's background is in publishing; she's been an agent, rights director and, currently, she works as a literary scout and freelance editor. She's been lucky enough to work with award-winning and best-selling authors like Mark Billingham, Hannah Richell and Claire Fuller. Jules ran a series of literary events in London with the psychoanalyst Adam Phillips before moving down to Cornwall and sideways into comedy.

Ophelia Francis, Programmer

Ophelia has been working in the live comedy industry for almost 8 years and is currently a Tours Coordinator in the Comedy & Entertainment department at AEG Presents. As well as working with some of the biggest names in comedy, Ophelia especially loves working with new up-and-coming talent, and finding the next big thing before anyone else! She also has a cat.
